Compass Centre Retreat

I enjoyed my first week of retirement at the Compass Centre in Mt. Clam, TX.  It was so much fun to share the laughs and good times with my quilting buddies.  We had a wonderful time and the center is a great place to have a retreat.  The rooms are so cute and the food was wonderful.  We always learn alot from each other also.

It seems like I didn’t get much done; while everyone else was whizzing through several quilts, I barely finished one.  My friend Diane must have made at least two dozen, if not more, in those 4 days.

This quilt is for my friend Reggie, who is a giant of a man, so the size of the quilt had to meet the challenge.  It’s just a bit bigger than king size.  Reggie and I worked together for the last five years and they have been the most fun I’ve had in my working career.  We’ve shared many happy times, including, our Halloween costume contest for charity, which we won last year.  We’ve also sung together, danced together, and shared many meals through those years.

I named the quilt Tropical Vacation – in honor of Reggie and Marilyn’s 40th Anniversary.  They celebrated with a cruise last year.  The quilt is being quilted and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.  I’m sure it will be beautiful.

I have quilts for my other team members and they are at the quilter also.  Unfortunately, I did not make photos before I sent them off.  Keep checking back to see those quilts also.

Take care and have a blessed day.
